My 5 Favorite Eyeshadow Shades

When it comes to eyeshadows, I typically go for more neutral tones, with maybe some hints of grey and pink thrown in. I like to keep my lashes and liner more dramatic if I need to, so I really don't stock up on darker shades. With my lighter complexion I feel like it doesn't work all the time and I'm a simpler girl anyway when it comes to makeup - less is definitely more. There are about five shades that I keep on rotate for my everyday use and I wanted to share them here because I love them that much. If you have any favorite shades or palettes, please feel free to comment and let me know! I'm always looking out for the best of the best.

Urban Decay - Frisk I honestly bought this palette for the sole purpose of having this shade (third from the left). It's the best blend of all the things I love in an eyeshadow. If I were to ever call an eyeshadow "perfect", it would be this one right here. It is a gorgeous color, works with any skintone, stays on well, and lasts for a long time. It's easy to see why this is a must-have!

Tarte - Natural Beauty This palette is one of my favorites. I am all about matte shadows and every single one here is matte (yay!). It follows what I love with pinks and neutrals, and Natural Beauty is the perfect mix there (second row, second from the left). Every color in this palette goes with one another, too - it's like the capsule wardrobe of makeup!

Ciaté London - Plumberry This color looks good in the palette (bottom right shade) but seriously amazing in person. It's so gorgeous and subtle and I'm so glad I snatched it up when I did, because it's a limited edition color. I linked to a very very similar one below, and you can get the palette via a third party if you love it as much as I do! It is very smooth and buttery and makes me want to purchase more shadows by Ciaté London asap.

Nars - Lilac Stone I honestly wouldn't call this much of a "lilac" shade as I would a shade of taupey grey (middle, top row). This was the first "real" eyeshadow palette I ever purchased and I haven't looked back since. This grey has gotten so much wear (literally) and it works so well with the green and dark colors for a smoky look. This was another limited edition palette, but is still available! It also comes with an eyeliner and travel eyeshadow brush!

Maggie a la Mode - Urban Decay Naked Palette

Urban Decay - Naked Ahh the original. This is my go-to on days where I'm really feeling the no-makeup makeup look. The best part of this palette is it has every shade of nude to complete your look - from a smoky eye to a highlight. I love how it comes with a brush so it's an easy travel palette. The Naked shade (third from the left) is the perfect matte nude for honestly any occasion - a definite must-have!
