2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Home Try-Ons: Part 1
Woohoo! It’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale time again. Being a new mom and having a full-time career, I don’t have much time to pop on over to the mall anymore, so I ordered all my favorites online and am sharing what I picked to try-on with you. There wasn’t much I loved, but there are a few great gems sprinkled throughout! Were there any good finds you had? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
ps. Don’t miss Part 2!
ALLSAINTS Balfern Suede Moto Jacket (6) - This is an item that was (unsurprisingly) one of top more popular picks of the sale this year. A classic and well-made moto jacket is a wardrobe staple for some. However, the cut for me was off. It was too tight in the front by the arms so it still fit, but would be uncomfortable with any clothing underneath. I think if I could size up, it would work well though. The quality really is great, and the material is simply gorgeous. If you’re in the market, I definitely would recommend!
Free People Cassidy Tee (S) - Who can resist a good oversized tee? I definitely recommend sizing down like I did, as it still leaves the perfect amount of slouch without being too big. It’s a cotton/poly blend, so you know it won’t shrink too much in the wash either. It has a linen vibe to it with the slubbed material. It also comes in a few other great colors, and I might have to pick it up in white!
Nordstrom Signature Crewneck Mohair Blend Sweater (M) - This was one of my favorite things that I picked up. I am such a sucker for a cozy sweater, and this one definitely fits that well. It’s soft and perfectly oversized, and the speckles are the perfect blend of colors. Highly recommend!
Zella Nola High/Low Sweatshirt (M) - I have been big into athleisure lately, and this cozy sweatshirt was something I couldn’t wait to try. I love the slouch it has without being too long. And it’s soooo soft! One thing to keep in mind though, is you might want to wash it before you wear it - the inside fleece was shedding already by the time I tried it on. I can’t tell if it’ll keep shedding after the initial wash though.
SPANX Active 7/8 Leggings (M) - I have been a pretty loyal Zella leggings fan, but really wanted to try these by Spanx! With my post-baby body, I’ll take any support I can get. However, these were surprisingly thin to me. I like my leggings to be thicker and substantial to help hold everything in and disguise all the bumps, and these helped smooth, but they felt a little more like full-leg Spanx than leggings.
Something Navy Flecked Crewneck Sweater (M) - I am fully on the speckled sweater bandwagon and this one by Something Navy is super soft! It was a bit long on me, but the longer sleeves made it feel extra-cozy. It also comes in a few other colors, and is under $50!
Topshop Carly Coat (8P) - I have been dying for a good coat in this rich chestnut color for a while now, but haven’t found “the one” yet. I was hoping this one might be it, but for being a petite cut this fit rather oversized. I know that’s the style, but it felt too oversized for me. Perhaps going down a size would really help, because the shoulders feel too big to me.
Good American Good Legs High Waist Skinny Jeans (4) - I have been wanting to try Good American jeans for a while, because I am a bit curvier than the typical denim brand builds for. I sized down per the suggestions of reviews and wish I didn’t. I think a size 6 would have fit on me much better, so I think I’m definitely going to exchange. The hem is 29 inches, but I wish it would have been 28 instead - I might just cut them myself though. The stretch is great though, and I love the wash!
Chelsea28 Smocked Neck Long Sleeve Chiffon Midi Dress (S) - Such a pretty and flattering dress!! I love the color - it’s sort of a tomato red with a tinge of orange, which is flattering to the skin tone. It is a pain to take on and off though, as you have to unbutton all the buttons at the neck every time. It also comes in black and is under $100.
Nordstrom Signature Double Face Wool & Cashmere Coat (S) - I can’t get over how gorgeous this coat is, but it definitely runs large. I sized down but I feel like an XS might fit better still. It would be a great wardrobe staple, though! The fabric and color are timeless and seasonless as well.
Gal Meets Glam Collection Luella Ruched Shoulder Crop Jumpsuit (6) - First off, can we talk about this plum color?? I was so excited to try this and I was surprised with how flattering how I found it. The material feels of good quality and it’s also lined. One thing I found that was a little odd was that there was no clasp to close the front. I think that could have really helped because it definitely kept gaping when I tried it on.
Vince Camuto Corlina Ankle Strap Sandal (7) - I was so excited to try these as the clear shoe trend has been growing on me! However, the nude color of this shoe is a little too yellow for me. It comes in a ton of other colors though, and one of them is an off-white suede with clear and I think those would be a better option to try!
ALLSAINTS Daisy Devo Asymmetrical Tee (M) - This tee is another one of my favorite finds from the sale. It’s not secret that I can’t resist a good tee with a twist (here, here, and here), and the asymmetrical hem and effortless drape of this one were too good to pass up. And it also comes in stripes! Another must-have from this sale.
Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Throw - I’ve heard great things about this throw and it’s just as soft and cozy as they say! It is a bit pricey, but still less than $100 at least. It’ll be great for those chilly fall and winter nights, and it seems like it’ll hold up well for years!
SPANX Higher Power Mid Thigh Shaping Shorts (M), Power Short Mid Thigh Shaper (M), and Higher Power Shaper Panties (M) - I have recently really been investing in shapewear more and Spanx is the best of the best for that. They hold you in without squishing or squeezing in the wrong places, and I feel comfortable and secure in them. Picking up a few different styles at a discount is a no-brainer!
ARCONA Triad Toner Pad Full Size Duo - I’m a huge fan of these toner pads already - they’re great for traveling and those days where you want to do the bare minimum skincare possible haha. Snatching them up on sale makes them even better! Highly recommend you try them.
